Science & God.

TOI article Science & God.

Charles H Towner in his Speaking Tree article, titled A Physicist is Faith in science & god; makes out a case for accepting religion and therefore god as scientific on an ostensible reason that science requires faith. The author is Nobel winner for his innovation in mason and laser but his scientific temper is questionable. Though science requires faith, science itself is not faith. They undergo rigorous testing and re-testing before they are accepted as facts. Future researchers will bring out new facts necessitating changes to his old understanding or faith. It is never so in the case of religion and god. The author failed to consider that there are great number of gods and religions owning them and not just one god or faith. They do not admit change through testing or researching their faith. Even those who tom-tom their creed “Vasudhaiva Kudumbakam” and “Ekam Sad Viprah Bahudha Vadanti” do not show it in their practice.
